Recently we made a wedding cake for a couple who are huge astronomy enthusiasts who got engaged while at a viewing of the Venus Transit last year. It is where Venus crosses in front of the Sun and only happens every 100 years, a once in a lifetime event. The figurines of these stargazers as well as their historic telescope are all made from fondant and gumpaste. The galaxy effect, or ‘space dots’ as our decorators jokingly call them, was created using airbrushing . If you look closely you’ll find a few constellations which we’ve hidden in the stars.
The New York Times even picked it up!
A really fun cake and a great example of how to tie in your own personal story into your custom wedding cake!
