A couple weeks ago, while pursing the internets, I found this charming invite by Althea and Ruth. I just love the teal, gold and navy colors, as well as the combination of bubbles, flowers and scrollwork. Thus a new wedding cake was born. Designing a wedding cake around an invitation is a fabulous way to tie in the overall theme and aesthetic of the wedding into the reception as it makes a great centerpiece of any reception.
The combination of the scroll work with the gold wreath leaves keeps it classic and elegant while the bubbles and unique flowers make it more modern and playful. Flowers and bubbles are made from our marshmallow fondant and gumpaste. The painting was done using icing and airbrush color. Overall the cake stood about 3 feet tall.
